More time with Daddy

This is the view from where Daddy lives most of the time right now; can you tell where it is? And Mommy and I get to hang out here more and more too, when we're not busy at our house.

I'm having lots of fun learning about a new place and seeing more of my Daddy!

My 1st Birthday - October 13, 2007

We finally got to see Daddy, which I was really excited about and evidently everyone else was too because we had a party. Grandma & Grandpa Hess and Aunt Ali came to the party too.

I had my first parent-intended consumption of processed sugar in my birthday cake, but honestly, I don't think it's as great as people make it out to be.

Where did it go?

Alright... presents!

Thank you Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Ali!

It got late... (check out my new PJs from Great Grandma and Grandpa Hess)

Daddy and Grandpa were tired, too. They've been working hard.

Thankful for friends and playmates

Daddy hasn't been around home as much and Mommy is always busy working on the house. Her friend Genny came over to help for awhile (but I think she really came to play with me!). Our friends Dan, Jennifer and Dulcy came to help too. But my favorite part has been that my friends who live right down the road - Twila, Nathan, Benjamin and Micah - have come down to play with me just about every afternoon. They are so much fun!

What kind of party?

From the left, these are my friends Ali, Grace and Livy. Their parents are all a part of Mommy and Daddy's old small group. A few weeks ago, Livy's parents, Dan and Jennifer had a party and invited lots of our friends from church. Evidently we won't be seeing them as much in the future, which makes me sad (and Mommy and Daddy too) - aren't we a cute group of gals! I'll keep you posted about what's going on as I try to figure out more.

Work it, work it.
Nice face, Mim.
I can't believe how much fun this is, daddy.

Shoreline Classic

The Shoreline Classic was the weekend after
the Chicago Half-Marathon but this one was only a 15K. The day started out a little rainy
but ended up being a great morning for a run. In my opinion, this is the best race of the year. Nice scenery, rolling hills, crisp air, great post race party and you don't really have to train. Perfect.

I'm winning!
