Co-Homecoming Queens

Shoreline Classic

The Shoreline Classic was the weekend after
the Chicago Half-Marathon but this one was only a 15K. The day started out a little rainy
but ended up being a great morning for a run. In my opinion, this is the best race of the year. Nice scenery, rolling hills, crisp air, great post race party and you don't really have to train. Perfect.

I'm winning!

Weekend in Chicago

Hi Daddy! You're doing great!!!

Doesn't my Daddy look awesome for just having run 13.1 miles?

Aunt Shanna helped me cheer for Daddy and the other runners.

And I had lots of fun playing with Uncle Marcus.

I bet you can't do this with your nose!

"Whoa... I think Mommy may have misread the dosage instructions on the cold medicine."

Victoria Vacation

We stayed near Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island. This is the view from our house across the Strait of Juan de Fuca of the Olympic Mountains in Washington.

Mount Baker - Another mountain in
Washington to the east of Victoria

The water was quite cold - but it splashed just as well!

Cousin Naomi & I had lots of fun
hanging out & learning from each other.

This trip, my old man agreed to drag the pack 'n play along. However sleeping in a closet is only a slight upgrade to the suitcase.

Hey, don't forget about me back here!

I love cousin Isaiah; he's fun and a good sharer!

I took this picture (aren't they cute!).

Say cheese!

Mommy noticed my first tooth about a month ago, around July 23rd, and the second one came not too long after. I'm working on my third tooth now - on the top this time - but it can't be caught on camera just yet.

Hanging out with my cousin

Naomi: Mim, I don't think you're supposed to eat the grass.

Miriam: What's your problem, Nomi? Eat a little grass; it makes everything better.

Aunt Ali comes to visit

Aunt Ali came to stay with us all last week! We had so much fun together. She read me books, played with me, kept me out of trouble, took baths with me and we even got to be roommates. She is so much fun and she was a big helper for Mommy and Daddy. I hope she can come stay again sometime.

Good clean family fun

Here are Aunt Ali and Mim enjoying each other's company.

You're lucky this screen is here, otherwise you would be short two fist fulls of hair

(Pay no attention to the dirt in the window sills.)

Miriam Crawling

Here's a video of Mim crawling on Friday. We think it was the first actual "long distance" crawl.

Hartwig Reunion

Last Saturday was the Hartwig Reunion (Great-Grandma Ekiss' family) and I had a great time hanging out with Isaiah, Naomi, Grandma Steele and her sisters, Great Aunts Kathy and Connie.

Mobile Mim

Miriam is getting to be quite mobile these days, although a majority of her movement is backwards. Today I left her playing with her toys in the middle of the living room, then when I went back a little while later, this is where I found her. She heard Daddy was wanting a new sound system and was trying to help him out by taking the current one apart. As I was typing this, she had gotten herself over to a pile of papers in the office and was starting to eat them. The fun is just beginning!

A visit to the zoo

Today we went to Scovill Zoo in Decatur with Grandma Steele and cousins Isaiah and Naomi (they've been staying with Grandma and Grandpa this week).

If you look just beyond the tray of my stroller, you can see a cheetah!

Isaiah even got to touch a snake!!! Mommy probably would have let me try, but she knows my grip and she figured I wouldn't have let go and the snake would have gotten pretty mad.

Video

We have a Google video that we want to share but can't get the nice, fancy way to post it on here to work, so let's see how this works:

Laundry time

Helping Mommy with laundry can get dangerous!
